It was in 1905 that Allen Slessman combined several small Great Lakes-area sauerkraut manufacturers to form The Fremont Kraut Company. Still family owned and operated, Frank’s and Snow Floss Kraut brands of sauerkraut still remain the best tasting, most authentic sauerkraut made in the U.S. today. Frank’s and Snow Floss are known as the highest-quality U.S. kraut because they are still hand made in small batches using the same oak casks that date back from the turn of the century.
